Objectives
The School of Performance provides students with comprehensive training in the live and performing arts. Programs in music, theatre, and contemporary dance maintains distinct disciplinary focus, and the School creates opportunities for students to develop their artistic practice within a vibrant, interdisciplinary environment.
The School is committed to fostering creativity, critical thinking, agency and collaboration. Students gain a solid grounding in their chosen discipline—whether in music (performance, composition, electroacoustics, jazz, music production), theatre (acting, scenography, performance creation), or dance (performance, choreography)—while also engaging in opportunities to work across disciplines. Performance is a central aspect to all programs, enabling students to refine their craft, stage original work and participate in collaborative projects.
Through a balance of formal training, artistic research and experiential learning, the School of Performance prepares students for professional careers in the arts and related fields, including cultural leadership, community engagement, research, education, and creative entrepreneurship. Emphasizing both individual creativity and collective practice, the school nurtures socially engaged work and interdisciplinary collaboration, reflecting the realities of today’s evolving cultural landscape, where versatility and cross-disciplinary engagement are essential.
