Meet the Chief Financial Officer
Kathleen Lizé
Beginning her five‑year term on January 12, 2026, Kathleen will draw upon the extensive experience gained during her previous leadership role in Internal Audit at Concordia from 2014 to 2020. In that capacity, she oversaw financial, operational, and IT audits, establishing a comprehensive understanding of the university’s financial environment.
In her role as Chief Financial Officer, Kathleen will assume responsibility for the following core areas:
- Identifying the university’s financial strengths and weaknesses and developing comprehensive strategies for improvement.
- Providing detailed analysis, informed advice, and strategic insights on major projects, initiatives, and proposals.
- Leading the development of the university’s annual operating and capital budgets, ensuring rigorous reporting and analysis of all budgetary components.
- Maintaining a strong financial position that mitigates risk and supports the institution’s long‑term objectives.
Kathleen’s collaboration with numerous organizations, including RCGT, Énergir, Cirque du Soleil, and Logistec, has been instrumental in shaping her approach to risk management and due diligence. Her work extends beyond traditional audit functions, demonstrating deep expertise in designing processes that achieve cost efficiencies while reinforcing strong governance practices. She consistently balances fiscal responsibility with forward‑looking innovation, ensuring that Concordia maintains its financial integrity while adapting effectively to evolving circumstances.
Kathleen’s academic credentials further reinforce her professional trajectory. She holds a Graduate Diploma in Chartered Professional Accountancy from Concordia University and a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from McGill University.
