Concordia-Vietnam Seed Grant visits

Concordia and Vietnam welcomes delegations of researchers as part of the Concordia-Vietnam Seed Grant for Collaboration in Sustainability.

Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) and the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT) visits Concordia

In July 2025, Concordia University welcomed a delegation of researchers from the Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) and the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT) as part of the Concordia-Vietnam Seed Grant for Collaboration in Sustainability. The visit built upon earlier missions by Concordia professors Dr. Hua Ge and Dr. Liangzhu (Leon) Wang, who had visited both HUST and HCMUT in Vietnam to establish links with researchers and explore areas of mutual interest.

The Vietnamese delegation engaged in a multi-day program that included meetings with Concordia researchers, lab tours, and in-depth discussions on collaborative research in the fields of sustainable buildings and energy efficiency. Faculty from the Centre for Zero Energy Building Studies (CZEBS), as well as the Departments of Mechanical, Industrial & Aerospace Engineering and Electrical & Computer Engineering, contributed to the dialogue.

These ongoing academic exchanges reflect Concordia’s broader commitment to fostering long-term, research-driven international partnerships in priority areas like sustainability.

In addition to HUCE, Dr. Chen also visited Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT) in Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho University (CTO) in Can Tho, and the University of Transportation Technology (UTT) in Hanoi on this trip, to discuss various forms of potential collaborations with these universities, including professor/student exchange, joint research seminars, short courses, and so on, with the hope of establishing more cooperation ties with them in the near future.
