Department Objectives

The Department aims to educate students in economics, both at the graduate and undergraduate level, and to contribute to the advancement of the discipline through research and teaching. Economists study the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services ─ essential knowledge for today’s business people and policy makers. Blending both theory and practical applications, the Department serves students preparing for related specialized professions (honours, specialization, cooperative) as well as those interested in a generalized understanding of the discipline (major, minor programs).
