The Aalto Summer Studies 2026 offers a variety of courses in International Business as well as numerous extra-curricular activities and events.
About the program
The Aalto Summer Studies 2026 offers an opportunity for Concordia students to study at the Mikkeli campus for 3 to 12 weeks from May to August while earning 3 to 12 Concordia credits toward their degree. The program offers a variety of courses in International Business as well as numerous extra-curricular actives and events.
Eligibility requirements
To be eligible to participate in the Aalto Summer you must meet the following criteria.
- Be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in JMSB.
- Have a minimum 2.7 cumulative GPA (CGPA).
- Completed at a minimum of 24 credits toward your current degree program by the time you leave for the program.
- Meet the eligibility requirements for Short-term study abroad programs outlined within the John Molson Visiting & Exchange website.
- Must complete prerequisite courses prior to departure.
Placement Fee
Once you accept your Partner Summer Program offer, you are required to pay a $75 CAD placement fee.

Program Dates
Four modules are available from mid-May to mid-August, which allows students to study from 3 to 12 weeks and earn 6-24 ECTS (1-4 courses).

Program Courses
Courses are offered in the field of International Business and are all taught in English in 3-week modules. Four modules are available from mid-May till mid-August, which allows students to study from 3 to 12 weeks and earn 6-24 ECTS (1-4 courses). Lectures are held 5 days a week, 3 hours a day.
Students may select one course per module, provided you meet the above-mentioned eligibility requirements. Permission to take courses is granted by John Molson. Courses taken without John Molson’s approval will not be transferred to Concordia. All courses taken abroad must pertain to a student’s degree program requirements. Students must complete prerequisite courses prior to departure.

Estimated costs & bursary
Host institution fees: There are no host university program fees attached to this summer program.
Concordia tuition fee: 3-12 credits of Concordia tuition to be paid to Concordia University depending on the number of Aalto University summer courses you register for. For an estimate of tuition fees, please use the tuition fee calculator.
Additional costs: Participants are responsible for paying their own airfare, meals, spending money, accommodations, books, immigration documents, optional social activities.
Quebec Mobility Bursary
To help with the costs of going abroad, Concordia offers the Quebec Mobility Bursary to students.
For students participating in:
- Module 12: Concordia offers a $1,425 CAD Quebec Mobility Bursary.
- Module 13: Concordia offers a $1,425 CAD Quebec Mobility Bursary.
- Module 14: Concordia offers a $1,425 CAD Quebec Mobility Bursary .
- Module 15: Concordia offers a $1,500 CAD Quebec Mobility Bursary.
To qualify, you must be a Concordia student enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degree program and approved to participate in the summer school program.
Important to note:
- Summer school program applicants do not need to submit a bursary application as it is part of the on-line summer school program application, and you will automatically be considered for the Quebec Mobility Bursary.
- Approved students will receive the bursary payment upon arrival and reception of the mandatory Confirmation of Arrival form.
- Details on the payment of the bursary will be sent to successful applicants.

Accommodations
Students are responsible for paying for and finding their own accommodations. Students can apply for student apartments in Mikkeli at MOAS.fi.
