International ImageFest @ Colombia 2021

Symposium on Art, Music, Design, and Science Interactions

The summer-intensive International ImageFest @ Colombia short online program will offer undergraduate and graduate students from a variety of fine arts, communication, design, as well as science and engineering backgrounds, an opportunity to work on a self-proposed electronic art research-creation projects and to participate in pre-symposium lectures and workshops, while attending one of the leading events on electronic arts in the Americas.

Eligibility

 INDI 620/1 GA and MUSI 398/1 GA students need to have

  • a background in fine arts (e.g., intermedia, music, cinema, sound art, cyberarts, photography, fibres) 
  • communication or design and some knowledge of new technology OR
  • a background in science or engineering and some knowledge of contemporary art or sound/music.
Course Details As an exceptional opportunity, selected students’ works and research will be presented in a special session devoted to Concordia participants, during the Festival. The ImageFest has been held since 1997, counting 19 editions with almost 100,000 attendees and over 2,000 artists and academics invited.

Graduate course: INDI 620/1 GA

Undergraduate course code: MUSI 398/1 GA (open to students from all faculties)

Alternatively, undergraduate students enrolled in a program of the Department of Music can register in EAST 461 or 462 if they meet the requirements (see Calendar).

Credits 3 Concordia credits (3 credits/course)
Tuition paid to 3 credits of Concordia tuition to be paid to Concordia University. Get an estimate of tuition fees.

Flexible schedule (during the ImageFest most activities will be agreed upon with the professor and will have a flexible schedule; some activities will be mandatory and defined once the final program of the International Image Festival is available.
