UNAM Panel Showcases Concordia Professor Arvind Jain’s Book Understanding Political Corruption

program provided by Dr. Salgado, UNAM

Professor Arvind Jain’s book Understanding Political Corruption was featured in a panel discussion hosted by the UNAM Instituto de Investigaciones Jurídicas in Mexico City.

The event brought together leading scholars from UNAM to engage in a rigorous discussion of the book’s central arguments, examining the structural drivers of political corruption and its broader implications across institutional and societal contexts. Professor Jain participated in the discussion, offering insights into his research and engaging directly with panelists.

The discussion highlighted the global relevance of Professor Jain’s work. While not specifically focused on Mexico, panelists emphasized that the analytical frameworks presented in the book are highly applicable to the Mexican context and resonate with broader international challenges. A key takeaway was the recognition that political corruption transcends national boundaries, requiring comparative and interdisciplinary approaches.

The panel concluded with appreciation for Professor Jain’s contribution and for the collaboration between Concordia University, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, and UNAM-Canada in facilitating this exchange. The event underscores the value of sustained academic partnerships in advancing dialogue, knowledge sharing, and cross-border collaboration.
