MESSAGE
FROM THE
VICE-PRESIDENT

This past academic year has seen numerous accomplishments in the Services Sector. From library renovations to e-commerce platforms, we’ve pushed past the status quo to go beyond for the members of our community.

In early 2016, Concordia was named one of Montreal Top 30 Employers. We take pride in knowing we are among Montreal’s top institutions, leading in attracting and retaining employees. Check out this year’s six superstar staff members who have been profiled for their hard work and dedication to Concordia.

Sustainability has also been a focus this past academic year. For the 18th year in a row, Concordia has had the lowest energy consumption per unit area among the six major universities in Quebec. We have also been praised by Hydro-Quebec for limiting power consumption. When selecting Aramark as the new food provider on campus, sustainability was also taken into consideration. Contractual agreements were made to ensure local procurement of food.

Our objective is to remain attentive to the evolving needs of our clientele in an ever-changing environment, in this regard projects like the Webster Library renovations and the new e-commerce platform help to ensure we meet demands. We need to keep up with the fast-paced evolution of technology, concern for sustainable practices, a growing physical campus environment and the need to engage with virtual communities.

My team and I are proud to serve the Concordia community and look forward to supporting the needs of the university community and to contributing to the attainment of the university’s strategic priorities.
