Santiago Lopez Alzate

Contemporary Dance (BFA) 25

Originally from Medellín, Colombia, and based in Tiohtià:ke / Mooniyang / Montréal since 2021. In his role at the Centre de Création O Vertigo, he collaborates on large-scale productions, including ODE by Catherine Gaudet and Remember that time we met in the future? by Lara Kramer. Alongside this work, he collaborates with Le Radeau, supporting the development of associated artists: Nate Yaffe, Dorian Nuskind-Oder, Emile Pineault, Hanako Hoshimi-Caines, and Catherine Lavoie-Marcus. Santiago is also involved in the conception of events and spaces that support choreographic research in Montreal, including the Cycles de conversations at Tangente Danse and the COHÉSION laboratory, in collaboration with Stacey Désilier. He additionally maintains a choreographic practice of his own. His work as a dance artist has been presented at Elemental Teatro in Medellín, Colombia, as well as at Tangente Danse, LA SERRE – Arts vivants, and the Lots of Love Festival in Montréal, Québec.
