Maja Josefina Oldefors
1998, Gothenburg, Sweden. A middle child in the sign of Aquarius (delightful, insufferable).
I hold a BFA in Fine Arts from HDK-Valand Academy of Art and Design, Gothenburg, Sweden. My artistic focus is experimental video art and multimedia installations and sculptures. My work revolves around contemplations on human meaning and existence, often taking off from theories on mortuary culture and a blurring of lines between wild nature and human behaviours - where absurdity and humour hopefully lessens the blow from the otherwise crushing weight of existential dread (bringing the “fun” in funerals, etc).
My BFA-degree film ”Notice & Game” (Varsel och Villebråd, M. Oldefors 2024) received an award from the Eric Ericsson Foundation, and that I am pretty proud of.
Fun at parties, terrible at driving vehicles.
