What do you love most about your work, and what inspired you to pursue this career in the first place? 

What I love most about my work is transforming scientific research into real-world impact, especially when it comes to product safety and consumer trust. My interest started with a curiosity about how formulations interact with the skin, which led me to clinical research. Over time, I became interested in how AI technology can enhance the way we analyze and interpret data. 

Looking back, what skills have been the biggest gamechangers in your career? 

Being willing to step outside of my comfort zone and challenge existing approaches has allowed me to grow and innovate. It’s not always easy to make necessary changes, but trusting my judgment and acting on it has opened new opportunities. Combined with strong analytical and managerial skills, this mindset has been key to my progress.

How did Concordia prepare you for your career? 

Concordia provided a strong scientific foundation and taught me how to think critically and independently. The hands-on lab experience helped me develop rigor, precision and problem-solving skills that are directly applicable to clinical research. My volunteer experience with the OH Research Group strengthened my sense of responsibility, as I was accountable for my own research segment and its outcomes.

My involvement in student organizations gave me valuable insight into how different organizational structures function, from collaborative governance to structured leadership. As a member-at-large on the Concordia Student Union Student Life Committee, I contributed to decision-making through voting on projects for budgeting and approvals. I was also the Vice President of the Concordia Syrian Students' Association. These experiences prepared me to navigate scientific environments and organizational decision-making in my career.

What is a standout memory from your time at Concordia? 

As the Vice President of the Concordia Syrian Students' Association, I developed my skills in marketing, communication, event planning and building external partnerships. We organized impactful initiatives both on and off campus—from cultural festivals to educational conferences, concerts and open mics, ski and hiking trips, and many other events in collaboration with universities and associations for hundreds to thousands of attendees.

If you could give your younger self one powerful piece of advice, what would it be? 

It’s easy to feel pressure to have everything figured out early on, but growth often comes from uncertainty and exploration. Staying focused, being consistent and keeping an open mind matter more than having a perfect plan. 

What’s the most exciting shift happening in your industry right now? 

The industry is evolving toward greater transparency, scientific validation and innovation in testing methodologies. Advances in ethical techniques and data-driven approaches are transforming how products are evaluated. There is also a growing demand for personalized, evidence-based solutions. Together, these shifts are raising standards and creating new opportunities for impact.
