About the project

VolunShare is a web-based platform designed to revolutionize community engagement and foster inclusive social development by connecting volunteers with organizations in need. The platform promotes equitable access to volunteer opportunities that directly and indirectly contribute to social well-being, community resilience, and individual purpose—all of which are key factors in improving mental and physical health. In alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), VolunShare addresses SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals by promoting social inclusion, enhancing community health, and fostering collaborative networks.

VolunShare employs advanced technologies, including Large Language Models (LLMs) and cookies, to personalize volunteer recommendations, ensuring that volunteers are matched with opportunities aligned with their skills, interests, and availability. This personalization not only improves user engagement but also ensures that organizations working to promote health and well-being have access to volunteers best suited to their needs.

At the core of VolunShare is its intelligent matching algorithm, powered by LLMs, which analyzes volunteer profiles and dynamically recommends tailored opportunities. By utilizing cookies ethically and transparently, the platform enhances user experience and optimizes volunteer retention, creating a sustainable and rewarding cycle of engagement. VolunShare also features an intuitive interface, comprehensive dashboards for volunteers and organizations, and automated communication tools that streamline operations.
