The Capstone SDG Impact Award recognizes Capstone projects that have significant potential to address the issues facing society today, as outlined by the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) framework.
About the award
While supporting the sustainable development goals is the responsibility of all members of our society, engineers are in a unique position to make a significant and lasting impact to overcome current and future challenges. In order to promote this potential and honour our contribution, the Gina Cody School has decided to launch the Capstone SDG Impact Award in 2023.
All currently enrolled 4th-year students who are completing a Capstone project at the Gina Cody School of Engineering and Computer Science are eligible to apply.
The Associate Dean, Academic Programs, will appoint a judging panel composed of seasoned multidisciplinary experts to select the winning projects.
The applications and presentations will be evaluated on the following criteria:
The relationship between the UN SDG(s) and the project.
The potential of the project to meet the identified targets.
