Xaviera Xiao

Xaviera Xiao is a PhD student in Film and Moving Image Studies at Concordia University, Montreal. She holds degrees from the University of Toronto, SOAS, University of London and University of Oxford. Her research interests include environmental humanities and media studies, Chinese film and media, water humanities, documenting practices, and media urbanism. She is an active member and research assistant at the Global Emergent Media Lab. Prior to starting her PhD, Xaviera worked in universities, government and start-ups where she has been involved in research on topics ranging from the use of immersive media for educational purposes to the uptake of digital platforms in healthcare.
