Shaun E. Finn

Justice Finn sits on the Superior Court of Quebec for the district of Montreal, where he was appointed in February 2023 after a distinguished career in complex commercial litigation and class actions. Before his appointment, he was a partner at BCF Business Law in Montreal and co-led the firm’s Class Action Defence Group, representing corporate and institutional clients in matters involving product liability, consumer protection, privacy, and securities. He previously articled and clerked at the Quebec Court of Appeal and appeared before numerous courts and tribunals throughout his career. Justice Finn holds a BA in Western Society and Culture from the Liberal Arts College and a Graduate Diploma in Journalism from Concordia University, an MA from Université de Montréal, civil law and common law degrees from McGill University, and an LLM from Université Laval. He has been recognized by leading professional organizations, has published widely on class actions and legal history, and has lectured at the McGill Faculty of Law.
