Science & engineering camps
Our science and engineering camps offer an engaging series of activities and experiments that will pique campers’ curiosity in science, engineering, technology, artificial intelligence and more!
Most programs last for one week unless indicated for two weeks. Our camps are staffed by experienced specialized facilitators and coordinators.
Location: Concordia Sir George Williams Campus, downtown Montreal.
Science and engineering exploration
- Offered for ages 5 to 12
- Age groups: 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12
An introduction to the fascinating world of science! This new immersive program is designed for young people who want to discover and experiment with various scientific disciplines. Participants will explore a new field every day through engaging, hands-on activities.
They'll build and launch their own rocket, tackle environmental challenges by creating water filtration systems, understand the mechanics of the human body by recreating the anatomy of a hand, build a straw tower capable of withstanding simulated earthquakes, and so much more!
This program encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration, offering young people a playful space to develop their scientific skills while having fun.
Computer Engineering / Coding
- Offered for ages 7 to 12
- Age groups: 7-8, 9-10, 11-12
Your child will discover the basics of computer coding through fun and interactive activities. By studying the fundamentals of digital coding and unplugged coding, they will understand how the digital world around them works.
Introduction to Artificial Intelligence
- Offered for ages 9 to 15
- Age groups: 9-10, 11-12, 13-15
Dive into the future with our program focused on artificial intelligence (AI)! Designed for young people with programming basics, this program offers exciting activities on cybersecurity, facial recognition, and exploring applications and software using AI, such as Chat GPT. This unique experience will allow them to discover how these technologies are transforming our world while developing advanced programming skills.
Civil Engineering / Lego®
- Offered for ages 5-12
- Age groups: 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12; two weeks available per age group
Your child will be immersed into the fascinating world of Lego® by taking on a multitude of challenges and exploring civil engineering concepts such as gravity and stability. Will it hold? Will it be tall enough? So many questions! Their ingenuity will be put to the test.
For Good Chemistry / Cooking Lab
- Offered for ages 5 to 12
- Age groups: 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12
Welcome to the world of chemistry! This new program has been specially designed for young science fans who dream of discovering the mysteries of chemical reactions.
- Chemistry basics: Get ready for impressive experiments! From soap making to rainbow flames, including slimy mixtures and surprising preparations, we will discover how chemistry explains the magic.
- Molecular cuisine: What happens when cooking meets science?
Making delicious pearls, food coloring, and even homemade ice cream: every day, young people will discover a new recipe to understand chemical reactions in cooking!
Space: Robotics / Astronomy
- Offered for ages 5 to 12
- Age groups: 7 -8, 9-10, 11-12
Lift off imminent for a journey beyond earthly borders! Does space fascinate your child? We invite them to conquer the universe with this new program.
- Robotics: We will design small robots and put them to the test on specially created space courses to test robotic engineering skills.
- Astronomy: Rocket-building, star observation, and discovering astronaut life... Between discovery and reflection, we will travel far beyond Earth. Get ready for lift-off, the adventure begins this summer!
Environment
- Offered for ages 5 to 15
- Age groups: 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-15
Is your child curious to discover nature in all its forms? This new program will immerse kids in the world of natural sciences!
- Mili-Volt - Green Tech: Through this program developped in collaboration with Concordia University's Volt-Age research chair, kids will make fascinating discoveries about heat islands, solar energy, and plastic, while taking action!
- Mission - Flora and Fauna: Kids will discover the world of plants, animals and microorganisms. This summer, nature and technology come together for unforgettable adventures!
STEAMpunks
- Offered for ages 13 to 15
- Two consecutive weeks; 30 participants per session
STEAM (science, tech, engineering, art, math) activities foster creative, technical, and interpersonal abilities. Campers will participate in a range of hands-on workshops, lab visits, physical activities and outings designed and led by university professors to inspire learning in a fun way. Through a taste of higher education and by building confidence, knowledge, skills and networking, this camp aims to nurture success in high school and beyond.
Concordia Counsellor-in-training: Arts and science
- Offered for ages 13 to 17
- 5-week program
- Limited capacity
If you're passionate about arts and science and want to build your activity leadership skills, join our Counsellor-in-Training (CIT) program! You'll get a minimum of 150 hours of practical and theoretical learning followed by first-aid training.
You'll earn a DAFA diploma and enjoy exclusive benefits: an outing to Camp YMCA Kanawana, a two-month membership to the YMCA sports centres, and a priority job interview during next year's hiring campaign. DAFA training included.
