Audrey Pepin

Thesis supervisor: Krista Lynes

Audrey Pepin is a PhD student in Communications at Concordia University, working under the supervision of Krista Lynes. Her research examines online feminisms at the intersection of feminist theory, communication studies, and political sociology.

Her doctoral project focuses on social media audiences of content related to the "reconstruction of the intimate," the feminist discourses that frame self-care, mental health, and well-being as political acts. She studies how this content shapes the everyday lives and activist engagement of the people who consume it, and how platform affordances influence its reception.

She holds a master's degree in political science and feminist studies from the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), where she was co-supervised by Geneviève Pagé and Mélanie Millette. Her thesis, which explored the reconstruction of the intimate as a form of feminist activism among content creators, received the Prix Jenson-Pétry, awarded annually to the best French-language master's thesis in political science in Canada.

Audrey's doctoral research is supported by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC). She also works as an editorial coordinator for Enfances, Familles, Générations.
