Eleanor Bond

Associate Professor, Painting and Drawing



Eleanor Bond, aCanadian artist based in Winnipeg and Montreal, is known for adistinctive body of paintings and drawings that combine speculativeprojections of the built environment with meditations on a number ofsocial, ecological, political and economic themes. For the past decade,the research and interpretation of particular cities, such asRotterdam, Salzburg and Detroit, has been central to her practice. Bondhas exhibited internationally since 1987, with major showings at theMuseum of Contemporary Art in Sao Paulo, Witte de With in Rotterdam,the Clocktower in New York and the Museum of Contemporary Art inMontreal, and others. Her most recent exhibitions were in Tokyo, Seoul,Hamilton and Berlin.
