Louise Samson received her training both in Montreal and abroad (New York, Colorado). She holds degrees in piano performance, chamber music, counterpoint and analysis. Louise has performed solo piano as well as chamber music repertoires with many different ensembles : l'Orchestre Métropolitain, l'Orchestre des Grands Ballets Canadiens, the Société de musique contemporaine du Québec, l'Ensemble contemporain de Montréal, the OSJM, Radio-Camada, Radio-Québec...
 
In the twenty-first century idiom, she has premiered works of composers such as Serge Arcuri, Rosemary Mountain, Gilles Lamarche, Anne Lauber (piano concerto), Jean Lesage, Isabelle Panneton.
 
At Concordia University since 1983, she has taught piano, ear-training, music in education, accompaniment, chamber ensembles, piano seminar and performance seminar (the last four at graduate level within the Diploma in Advanced Music Performance Studies program). Ms. Samson also has conducted the Concordia Chamber Choir (2002-2007). The Contemporary Ensemble Workshop has been under her direction since the course's very beginning in 2008. A part-time faculty member, Music department, at l'Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) since 1985, Ms. Samson also has taught at l'Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières (UQTR) and at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal.
