Dr. Bhowmick joined the Department of Building, Civil and Environmental Engineering at Concordia University in 2011. He received his Ph.D. degree in Civil (Structural) Engineering from University of Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, M.A.Sc. degree in Civil (Structural) Engineering from University of Windsor, Windsor, Ontario, Canada and B.Sc. degree (with Honours) in Civil Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, Dhaka, Bangladesh.
His research interests include Seismic design and analysis of steel and concrete structures, Seismic retrofit and rehabilitation of existing structures, and Bridge engineering. Dr. Bhowmick has authored/coauthored several articles in peer reviewed journals and conferences. In addition to his research expertise, he has extensive practical experience in the design of buildings and bridges. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Alberta (APEGA) and affiliated to CSCE, CISC, and ASCE.
