Alumnus/Alumna of the Year

Through the years, Frank S. Borowicz, L BA 69, has been an active participant in some of the Concordia’s key fundraising initiatives, such as the Frederick H. Lowy Fellowships, the Concordia Shuffle and the Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) Fraternity 40th Reunion Scholarship.

A proud member of the TKE Fraternity, Frank co-chaired and co-emceed their 40th anniversary reunion event in 2007. He's also graciously played host for several Concordia alumni events held at his Vancouver offices.

A Counsel to the Vancouver law firm Davis LLP, Frank is a prominent arbitrator, mediator and governance advisor to public and private corporations. He is a Governor of the Vancouver Board of Trade, having served as Chairman and Chief Elected Officer. He is also Honorary Consul of Sri Lanka, Chairman of British Columbia's Industry Training Authority, and serves as a director of several public and private companies.

Frank, who earned his law degrees from Harvard University (LL.M.) and Dalhousie University (LL.B.), was formerly a professor of contracts and administrative law at the University of Windsor, and founding faculty member of the University of Victoria Law School. He has also served as an adjunct professor of forestry law at the University of British Columbia.

He is a charter member of the Arbitrators Association of B.C., President of the B.C. Association of Attorney Mediators, a graduate of the Corporate Governance College of the Institute of Corporate Directors and has received the highest Martindale-Hubbell professional rating (AV).

In recognition of his achievements, Frank has been appointed a Justice of the Peace and Queen's Counsel, and awarded the extraordinary designation of Honorary Chartered Accountant.

Frank may have left Loyola College nearly 40 years ago, but Loyola and Concordia remain close to his heart.
