Jérémie Dubé-Lavigne
Photography
The practice of photography, poetry and video performance allows Jérémie to investigate presence in the present thought themes of memory and nordicity. Walking plays a significant role in this process, as it slows the gaze, fostering deeper awareness of the surrounding and revealing unexpected hidden elements like the snow bank and the Tempo shelter.
Following his studies in photography at Cégep du Vieux-Montréal and art history at UQAM, Jérémie embarked on his artistic career with his first solo exhibition in 2018, «Viraillages», illustrating a journey through Quebec in poetic photography. This was followed in 2020 by the publication of his book «Les demeures latentes», combining words and photos again, this time recounting visits to places that marked his childhood and adolescence. In addition, since 2020, he has been working as a facilitator and project manager at the MEM-Centre des mémoires montréalaises museum.
