Ylenia Olibet

FRQSC Postdoctoral Fellow at the Moving Image Research Lab at McGill University

Ylenia Olibet is a film and media scholar interested in how film cultures and digital media enable feminist and queer publics. She is currently conducting a research project on women’s film festivals and the geopolitics of feminism in francophone contexts. Her doctoral dissertation defended at Concordia in 2023 examined contemporary feminist film culture in Quebec from a transnational perspective. She published in Feminist Media Studies, Feminist Media Histories, MAI: A Journal of Feminist Visual Culture and in edited book collections. Her research is funded by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Société et Culture.
