Sheridan Polinsky
Sheridan's research focuses primarily on Islamic theology and theoretical Sufism, from the medieval period up unto today. He completed a BA in Philosophy, MA in Religions and Cultures, and PhD in Religion at Concordia University. His dissertation, recently published by De Gruyter, consists of a study of the life and thought of Egyptian Sufi Ibn Mughayzil (fl. 895/1490).
Sheridan is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Center for Islamic Theology at the University of Tübingen (Germany). His project is an annotated English translation of the Māturīdī Abū l-Muʿīn al-Nasafī’s (d. 508/1115) theological masterpiece, the Tabṣirat al-adilla fī uṣūl al-dīn.
