Thomas Lundy

Thomas is a journalist and associate editor at Canadian Geographic. His reporting focuses on science, environment, wildlife and conservation, with a particular emphasis on northern and Indigenous-led conservation initiatives. In 2025, his feature on efforts to establish an Inuit-led protected and conserved area in Taloyoak, Nunavut, won the IAPA Environmental Journalism Award and a National Magazine Award nomination. Thomas has a degree in marine zoology from Newcastle University, and now he brings complex environmental issues to broad audiences. At Concordia, Thomas contributed to The Link and was awarded the Philip Fisher Graduate Diploma Award Bursary. Previously, he worked for the science journal Scientific Reports and was a consultant to the United Nations for the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity.  Originally from the UK and now based in Montreal, he brings an international perspective to his reporting, shaped by his work experience and travels in Japan and Australia.
