Jennifer Ditchburn

Jennifer is President and CEO of the Montreal-based Institute for Research on Public Policy, where she leads efforts to help improve public policy in Canada and nurture informed debate. A veteran communicator, she previously served as editor-in-chief of IRPP’s digital magazine Policy Options from 2016 to 2021. Before joining the IRPP, she spent two decades covering national and parliamentary affairs for The Canadian Press and CBC Television, earning three National Newspaper Awards and the Charles Lynch Award. She is co-editor of the book The Harper Factor: Assessing a Prime Minister’s Policy Legacy and a contributor to Sharp Wits & Busy Pens on the history of the Parliamentary Press Gallery. A fellow at Carleton University’s Political Management program and a board member of the Banff Forum, Jennifer holds a BA from Concordia University and an MJ from Carleton University. At Concordia, she was news editor at The Link newspaper and received the journalism department’s Cynthia Gunn Award.
