Justin Giovannetti is an editor for Apple News based in Montreal. A 2011 graduate of Concordia University's BA in Journalism, he previously served as bureau chief at Queen's Park, leading The Globe and Mail's political coverage in Ontario. Before that, he was a national correspondent for The Globe, reporting on Western Canada's economy and politics from Vancouver, Edmonton, and Calgary. His investigative work on the Lac-Mégantic rail disaster earned him a Canadian Association of Journalists award and his work has also been recognized by a Digital Publishing Award. During the pandemic, Justin moved to New Zealand as political editor for The Spinoff, opening the publication's first parliamentary office and writing the country's most popular morning newsletter. In 2024, he published Poutine: A Deep-Fried Road Trip of Discovery, exploring Canada's national dish through culinary investigation, family history, and cultural memoir.
