Emilee Gilpin

Emilee Gilpin is the founder of Emilee Gilpin Media, where she specializes in interviewing and storytelling across platforms, including photography, video direction and production, as well as content creation and social media management. She also works part-time as an associate producer with CBC Victoria. 

A Michif media professional of Cree-Métis, Filipina, Scottish, Irish and British descent, she has worked in media and communications for over a decade. She was the Senior Communications Advisor and Community Storyteller for the Coastal First Nations-Great Bear Initiative, specializing in relationship-based reporting to inspire change. She also previously served as Managing Director of Canada's National Observer's "First Nations Forward" series and was Managing Editor for IndigiNews

During her time at Concordia, Emilee received the Susan Carson Memorial Bursary and was a Canadian Association of Journalists-Journalists for Human Rights (CAJ-JHR) Emerging Indigenous Journalist award finalist.
