Maia Earl

Maia Earl recently received her BA from Concordia's Communications Program, and is returning to pursue a MA in Media Studies. Her interests lie in investigating the relationship between game design and facilities of emotional engagement in creative media. By using affect theory in a procedural way to investigate practices of conveying meaning through design. Her intention is to use studies of aesthetics, interactivity, and environment to frame this work, and apply it to her research creation thesis as she moves through this degree.
Maia has experience with visual media of many kinds: she has spent time producing film projects, working on concept art for various games, and creating material art since a very early age. She has also worked on a handful of video essays and writing projects in and outside of school pertaining to the interests outlined above.
