- Reporting to: Youth Engagement Coordinator and Camp Administrator
- Working closely with: Camp Coordinators and Camp Counselors
- Contract period: 25 hours/week over approximately 20 weeks
- Schedule: March to August, 2026
- Hourly rate: $24
About the position
The Program Development Coordinator will support the planning, organization, and delivery of science and engineering camp programming. The role focuses on developing structured lesson plans, coordinating materials, and supporting training and program implementation to ensure high-quality, engaging, and well-organized camp experiences.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and refine lesson plans and course outlines for science and engineering camps
- Review and adapt existing lesson plans to fit the camp structure and context
- Consult with faculty, staff, and disciplinary experts on program content
- Research and integrate Actua lesson plans and related resources
- Create materials lists aligned with program needs
- Cross-check materials and equipment with existing Concordia resources
- Create and maintain a master binder of camp content for future program continuity
- Support training of camp counsellors and assist with program delivery
- Ensure programming aligns with Concordia day camp standards and approaches
- Support planning of field trips and identify equipment procurement needs
Desired profile
We are looking for a motivated and organized individual who is passionate about youth engagement and science education. The ideal candidate enjoys working in collaborative environments and is interested in developing accessible, creative, and hands-on learning experiences for young people.
- Background in science, engineering, education or a related field
- Experience working with children or youth (camps, tutoring, outreach, mentoring, etc.)
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Ability to translate scientific concepts into engaging, age-appropriate activities
- Interest in inclusive and accessible approaches to science education
