Fine Arts camp counsellors

About the experience

The Concordia fine arts day camps combine the expertise of the Faculty of Fine Arts to discover new ways to create and express themselves through visual arts, theatre, dance, and music for youth from ages 5 to 17.

Specialized counsellors will plan and lead adapted activities while building positive relationships with children, parents, and the camp team.

Available positions

  • Fine Arts Exploration Counsellor (5 to 8 positions)
  • 3D Arts Counsellor (1 position)
  • Musical Exploration Counsellor (1 position)
  • Visual Art Counsellor (1 position)
  • Dance Exploration Counsellor (1 position)

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Plan and lead fun activities with your co-counsellor
  • Develop creativity and skills within groups
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians
  • Ensure adequate supervision and safety at all times
  • Participate in training sessions and weekly meetings

Desired profile 

  • Education: CEGEP/University (dance, arts education, music, fine arts are required)
  • Languages: Good command of French and English 
  • Experience: Working with children and youth
  • Skills: Creative, responsible, team spirit, leadership

Compensation

  • $18.25/hr (+$0.75/hr seniority)
  • 35 to 40 hours/week, Monday to Friday

  • DAFA training (Diplôme d’aptitude aux fonctions d’animateur) (33 hours valued at $450)
  • CPR training (fees covered)
  • A total of 50 hours of training with 3-year certification (CPR and DAFA, valued at $500)
