Alexandra Kindrat is an interdisciplinary scholar and public‑minded leader whose distinguished career spans neuroscience, education, aerospace research and public policy.

She holds a PhD from Concordia, with advanced graduate training in physiology and neuroscience from McGill University, as well as specialized education from Harvard University and studies in human space flight at the International Space University.

She currently serves in a senior leadership role with the Brain Repair and Integrative Neuroscience Program at the McGill University Health Centre Research Institute, where she supports national and international collaborations advancing brain and digital health research.

As Chair of the BRaIN Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee, she ensures that research is guided by ethical practice, equity and global health responsibility.

Beyond institutional leadership, Kindrat has served on Parliament Hill, held research appointments at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas, and conducted scientific research aboard the International Space Station, advancing astronaut vision studies with lasting applications for neurological care and digital therapeutics.

An award‑winning educator, licensed pilot and international election observer, she brings scientific expertise and a strong public service ethos to complex global challenges. She also recently published a children’s book on space travel.

Kindrat’s leadership and public engagement have been recognized nationally with the 2025 Public Advocacy and Engagement Award from the Canadian Association of Research Administrators and a 2018 Elsie MacGill Award from the Northern Lights Aero Foundation.

In 2026, she received the Concordia University Alumni Association's John F. Lemieux Medal.
