Biography

Darlene Himick holds a Bachelor of Law (Osgoode), a Master of Business Administration (Dalhousie), and a PhD in Accounting from the University of Calgary. She also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst Designation.

Dr. Himick researches primarily in the area of pensions, and pension accounting, and sustainable investing by pension funds. She also is interested in work on the professions of accounting, actuarial science and law. She has published her work in Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal and Critical Perspectives on Accounting. In addition, she has received funding for her work from the Fonds Québecois de Recherche sur la Société et la Culture (FQRSC).

Dr. Himick worked for several years at a major actuarial consulting firm, and has taught financial and managerial accounting at the undergraduate level.
