Fanny Jane

Sculpture and Ceramics

Fanny Jane's artistic practice functions as a testing ground, through immersive installations where broken and transformed objects coexist. Her language develops through a sculptural corpus made of papier-mâché, broken glass, neon, electrical wires, construction materials, and wax. Through a process of reassembly and reuse, the artist works with neglected and recycled materials as a starting point to (re)imagine alternative temporalities, uses, and relationships. Light is a key element, acting as a research tool in its own right within the artist's work. Through its use, it orients bodies, modulates rhythms, and invites a sensitive relationship with space, where time is no longer measured by productivity but by the quality of presence.

Fanny Jane is a multidisciplinary artist based in Tiohtiáke, Montreal.

Currently a master's candidate in sculpture and ceramics at Concordia University, and following a period of development in London, the artist is trained in tattooing and jewelry making and explores neon art independently. She also works as artistic director and event programmer at Parquette, a venue dedicated to showcasing Montreal's art scene.

Fanny Jane has participated in the Quarantaine auctions and the Printemps du MAC, as well as several group exhibitions, notably at Projet Casa, Le Livart, and Espace Loulou. She has also worked on a series of solo exhibitions. Her works are included in several private collections in Quebec.
