Print Media

As a multidisciplinary visual artist, I explore human experiences in relation to questions of identity, language, and movement within my projects. Some of the research topics include the distortion between individual and collective memory in immigrants, the formation and evolution of hybrid identities, and multisensory phenomena such as déjà-vu, déjà-vécu, déjà-entendu, etc. I am interested in neurodivergent forms of language and how they translate into the visual world. My creative process involves composing from an ever-growing visual vocabulary based on primary research materials, such as sketches from field trips, audio interviews, sound recordings, and collected ephemera. Working in the expanded field of print media, I utilize traditional printing techniques like woodcut, serigraphy, and lithography to create paper sculptures and mixed-media installations. The material diversity of my projects extends to include wood and clay sculptures.

I am a Montreal-based multidisciplinary visual artist. Born in Saint Petersburg (Russia), I have lived and worked in Montreal since 2012. Supported by a grant from SSHRC, I am currently completing an MFA in Print Media at Concordia University, where I got my bachelor’s degree (2019). Between 2020-2023 I engaged in several artist residencies in Japan and Germany. I am a recipient of several grants from the Canada Council for the Arts (CCA) and the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec (CALQ). I exhibited my work in Australia, Canada, Germany, Japan, Russia, United States and Spain.
