Thesis title: The Necromantic Clerical Underground in 15th Century Europe
Christian is pursuing a M.A. in Religions and Cultures at Concordia University. He completed his B.A. at Concordia University with a major in Religions and Cultures combined with a minor in Law from Université de Montréal and holds previous undergraduate and graduate science degrees from McGill University and Université de Montréal. He is interested in the study of the practice of ritual magic and demonic conjuring, known as necromancy, by lower-level clergy in late medieval Europe. Despite the Roman Catholic Church's official condemnation of these practices, a clandestine network operated within the boundaries of the clerical and academic elite, often using their access to theological texts, Latin literacy, and ritual knowledge to perform magical operations.
Christian's other academic interests include Western esoterism, ritual magic, secret societies, cults and ancient manuscripts.
