Camellia Jahanshahi (she/none) is a queer Iranian-American multidisciplinary artist, performer, activist, and community worker. With a BA and MA in Religions and Cultures from Concordia University, a professional certificate in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion work from Cornell University and over 10 years of community work experience, Camellia is ecstatic to be putting her skills and passion into use in the pursuit of solidarity, liberation, and joy.
Currently she holds a full time position at the Canadian Unitarian Council as the Dismantling Barriers Lead where she is responsible for engaging people in anti-racism and anti-oppression education and spiritual reflection work.
In addition to that, she is engaged in grassroots organizing here in Montreal with the non profit Press Start, sits on the Governance Hub at SHIFT Concordia, and is deeply engaged in the burlesque world where she performs, teaches, and produces regular shows with mutual aid missions at their core.
She is also a lay chaplain with the Unitarian Universalists and in process of becoming a death doula. Through it all she continues to make art, consult, and facilitate workshops around anti-oppression and activism in art in all sorts of spaces and places.
