Joshua Allan (he/him) is a journalist and journalism MA student based in Montreal. His research focuses on analyzing different approaches that English- and French-language media outlets in Quebec take when reporting on topics related to language, specifically examining topics around Quebec workplaces and the provincial economy.

His research also analyzes how Irene Costera Meijer’s theory of “Valuable Journalism” may be applied to Quebec’s media landscape in order to foster increased mutual understanding between the province’s Francophone and Anglophone communities.

Joshua also works as a general assignment reporter for The 1019 Report and The 1510 West – a pair of newspapers covering municipal news in the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region and the West Island, respectively.
