Thesis title: Live Streaming Games and Progressive Politics 

Francis Léveillé is a current PhD candidate. His SSHRC-funded doctoral research examines political mobilization on video game live streaming platforms. More specifically, he studies the work of live streamers who combine progressive political commentary with gaming content. His broader research interests include science and technology studies, games, online discourse, and aging. 

Francis works as a research assistant for the international research project Aging in Data, and for the Quebec Research Chair on Francophone Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technology (IANF). He is also an active member of the Technoculture, Arts and Games (TAG) research center, the Machines Agencies group, the mLab, engAGE Center for Research on Aging, and the Groupe de recherche en communication politique (GRCP).
