Thesis supervisor: Fenwick Mckelvey

Chloe Ranaldi is a news reporter at CBC Montreal. She has a particular interest in social issues such as, immigration, healthcare, and senior rights.

She has covered breaking news stories across Quebec, such as flooding, the province’s Covid-19 emergency measures, and the federal, provincial, and municipal elections.

She completed her BA with distinction in Political Science at Concordia University in 2019. During her studies, she worked as a news assistant editor, writing stories about student life and downtown Montreal for The Concordian student newspaper. She has also worked at local radio stations and the Suburban weekly newspaper covering community stories.

For her thesis, Chloe plans to explore the role that short form videos like Instagram reels and TikToks play in guiding society’s conversations, culture, and political discussions.
