Tamara Angeline Medford-Williams

Tamara Angeline Medford-Williams is a social justice advocate and survivor of gender-based violence, leveraging her lived experiences and Caribbean heritage to challenge systemic barriers and empower marginalized communities. Living with invisible disabilities, she is one of the Director's at the Disabled Women’s Network of Canada, an educator, part-time faculty member at Concordia University, family caseworker, radio host, and facilitator.

Tamara is a registered social worker and holds a Master of Social Work, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Human Relations, and a graduate degree in Youth Work from Concordia, where she also completed a certificate in Family Life Education. The Youth Work program inspired her to pursue her Master’s and equipped her with essential skills that have shaped her career, enabling her to create spaces where individuals feel empowered and valued.

Recognized as one of CBC Quebec's Black Changemakers of 2024 and the 2026 Black History Month Spokesperson, Tamara embodies servant leadership. She is dedicated to uplifting others and fostering meaningful change.
