Course offerings

Concordia has two main study periods, known as terms:

  • Fall term: September to December
  • Winter term: January to May

You can study on exchange at Concordia for either a single term (fall OR winter), or for a full academic year (fall AND winter). Inbound exchange students must meet the prerequisite requirements for all undergraduate or graduate courses they wish to register for. Fifty percent of the courses you select must be within the same Concordia department. You are permitted to select the remaining courses from other departments or faculties, provided you meet the prerequisite requirements for those courses.

For a list of courses available at Concordia University, check out the “Explore our Courses” section of the How to Apply web page. You will be directed to the relevant undergraduate or graduate calendar that lists the courses associated with different academic programs.

The courses listed in the academic calendars may not be offered every term or year. To see if a course will be offered in the term you will study at Concordia, you can use the Class Schedule. Note that class schedules for an academic year are generally only available in March of that year. For example, for the 2021–2022 academic year (Sept. 2021 to April 2022), the class schedule will only be available in March 2021.

Finally, not all of Concordia’s courses are open to exchange students. A list of restricted courses is available in the “Restricted Courses” section of the How to Apply web page. You can also find information on the course registration process in the “Register for Courses” section of the same web page.
