Scholarship application assessment & results

Concordia International ensures that you remain informed about the scholarship selection process and the steps you need to take once you have submitted your application.

What happens after I submit my application?

  1. Concordia International will conduct a preliminary assessment of scholarship applications prior to submission on the EduCanada portal on behalf of the student.
  2. While EduCanada reviews the scholarship applications, Concordia International will simultaneously assess applications of students who have applied for a student exchange program. Please note that acceptance into the student exchange program does not guarantee selection for the scholarship.
  3. Students who have been accepted to pursue research under the supervision of a Concordia professor are not guaranteed selection for the scholarship.
  4. The official scholarship selection results are generally announced in the month of May for the Study in Canada Scholarship and June for the other scholarships (subject to change).
  5. Concordia International will inform scholarship applicants of the selection results once they are available.
  6. Students who are selected for the scholarship will receive confirmation by email.

Students who are denied the scholarship may choose to carry out their exchange regardless, if they choose.

I have been awarded the scholarship, what do I do next?

  • Scholarship allocation: The scholarship will be allocated to students in the form of a personal cheque. The scholarship funds will be allocated to students after their arrival on campus and once we have verified certain documents regarding their travel and stay.
  • The official letter of admission: Students who are participating in and have been accepted to the Concordia Student Exchange Program will receive an official letter of admission via email. This is letter to be used for immigration purposes. Students will receive a welcome email with more information regarding their exchange (enrolment, preparation of stay, immigration formalities, etc.).
  • Students participating in research at Concordia University under the supervision of a Concordia professor will have to apply for a work permit.
  • For further information regarding medical insurance, housing, immigration formalities, methods of payment, etc., visit the website of the International Students Office.
