Biography

Being a passionate musician (violin, voice, guitar), Sarah Milis holds a Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy from Université du Québec à Montréal (2007) and a Master's degree in the same discipline from Concordia University (2012).  Certified by the Canadian Association for Music Therapists (2008), she recently became a Fellow of the Association for Music and Imagery (FAMI, 2017).  

As a Music Therapist, she worked with a variety of clienteles, such as children having a pervasive developmental disorder, learning and/or behavioral disabilities, and multihandicapped adolescents.  Her current practice evolves around an adult population, in the domains of mental health, palliative care, and geriatrics.  

Since September 2014, she is a part-time faculty member at Concordia University where she teaches Music Therapy.  She is also an active speaker and offers a variety of conferences and workshops for individuals wanting to use music to increase their sense of well-being or professionals (teachers, workers in early childhood or geriatrics, etc.), wanting to enhance their use of musical activities in their work.
