Sina Piryae

Photography

Coming from Isfahan, Iran, I am an artist who uses storytelling and photography to investigate our memories and perceptions of the world. Based on my personal experience of uprooting my life and moving to a new location, my work explores themes of urbanization, environmental transformation, and the loneliness that comes with relocating. Moving from the known to the unknown and finding one's place in the world are central themes.

Sina Piryae (Iran, 1998) lives and works in Montreal. He holds a BA in Photography from Art University of Isfahan. He has participated in several group exhibitions and has been featured in publications such as Parsforte. In 2021, Piryae did a photography project called “A Failed Rescue,” which was exhibited in a solo show at Aknoon Art Gallery. Through the medium of photography, Piryae’s work focuses on themes related to cityscape, environment and the consequences of climate change.
