Iñigo Lasheras Cobos

Photography

Iñigo has begun a stubborn pursuit of images that respond to his vision of today's metropolitan culture. In his insistent investigation, the profound influence that the theoretical and practical work of architect Rem Koolhaas has on his research is undeniable. Koolhaas has analyzed the current city as a post-human, dynamic and multifunctional experience. He is especially close to Koolhaas's ability to integrate different scales and programs in the same building, especially sensitive to his deep exploration of geometric and organic forms in the building of our time. Iñigo's studies range from the urbanization and growth models of new cities to how social networks, consumerism, and superficiality affect communication, intimacy, and commitment among the people who share the urban space. Iñigo likes to delve and investigate how the modern and urban spaces we inhabit shape our identities and our behaviours.

Born and raised in Madrid, Spain, Iñigo holds a BFA in Photography from TAI School of Arts (Madrid). He has participated in several exhibitions since 2021 and was the youngest photographer in PHotoEspaña Festival Off 2023. He was awarded with the TAIFoto Scholarship (2021) and Concordia International Tuition Award of Excellence (2023) and was selected for PHotoEspaña Discoveries (2022), selected for WE:NOW Festival (2022 & 2023). He did an 8-month internship at Blanca Berlín Gallery, one of the most prestigious photography galleries in Spain.
