Salim Valji
Salim Valji is an accomplished sports journalist based in Calgary, Alberta.
He graduated from Concordia’s Department of Journalism in 2017 and since then, has contributed to the New York Times, ESPN, Montreal Gazette, Canadian Press, CBC, CTV, and several other media outlets.
Currently, he is TSN’s Calgary Bureau Reporter. He reports on the Calgary Flames, Stampeders, CFL, and other topics across television, digital, and radio platforms.
Valji was heavily involved in student life while a student at Concordia. He broadcasted for the Stingers, was a teaching assistant in the Department of Journalism, co-created the “Concordia Reports” live election broadcasts, was a finalist for the CEO for a Day competition, and was the first non-JMSB student to ever work for the John Molson Sports Marketing Committee.
