Rachel Lau
Born in Montreal and raised on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, Australia, Rachel is a graduate of Concordia University, where she specialized in broadcast and print journalism, with minors in political science and French literature.
Rachel also studied political science at the l’Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po) in France, and professional photography at the New York Institute of Photography.
She got her start in journalism at Global News in Montreal, where she worked as a TV news reporter, online producer and associate producer.
Rachel is currently a digital reporter at CTV News in Montreal and was previously the station’s interim Quebec supervising producer of digital content.
Over the years, she has covered some of Quebec's largest stories, from the Luka Magnotta trial to the Lac-Mégantic train derailment, missing children and elections at all levels.
Prior to working in journalism, Rachel was a representative for the United Nations Association in Canada.
When she's not in the newsroom, you can find her chasing her two daughters around a park or pool.
