Lucas-Matthew Marsh
A proud member of the graduating class of 2024, Lucas-Matthew Marsh holds a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, with a minor in English Literature and Political Science. When he probably should have been studying, Lucas-Matthew’s spent his undergrad as Managing Editor of The Concordian and News Director at CJLO 1690 AM.
Since graduating, Lucas-Matthew has written for Al Jazeera English, The Toronto Star, The Medical Post and The National Press Club Journalism Institute (NPCJI) in Washington, D.C. He’s currently a Local Journalism Initiative reporter with Iorì:wase, where he covers everything from local news to national affairs and everything in between.
In his career, he has had the opportunity to report on the deportation order of 2024 Paris Olympic hopeful Tamarri Lindo, interview the first Indigenous Minister of Indigenous Services Canada, and write an advice column for early-career journalists with the NPCJI. Lucas-Matthew is also a member of the Journalism Recovery Network, a grassroots group that provides peer-to-peer support for media workers struggling with self-medication.
