Interactive virtual cocktail-making class led by Hannah Legault, BA 18.

Learn how to make three classic drinks in our virtual happy hour: Tom Collins, Harvey Wallbanger and Red Sangria. A Q&A will follow.

To make the drinks along with Hannah, you will need the ingredients listed below, as well as ice, a jigger or one ounce shot glass and a bar spoon (optional).

Ingredients

Tom Collins

  • gin
  • lemon juice
  • simple syrup (or just regular sugar)
  • soda/Perrier/bubbly water
  • lemon wheel (for garnish)

Harvey Wallbanger

  • vodka
  • orange juice
  • Galliano L'Autentico (or vanilla extract)
  • garnish: orange slice and cherry (optional)

Red Sangria

  • 1 bottle red wine (750 mL)
  • 1 can of soda or 7up or flavoured Perrier (your choice)
  • 1 cup fruit juice
    - preferably acidic such as orange or lemon juice for a sweet wine and sweet juice like strawberry or grape for a dry wine
  •  sweet liquor (optional)
    - your choice of triple sec/grand marnier, blue curaçao, amaretto or elderflower liquor
  • At least 2 cups of your choice of mixed fruit
    - Your sangria will flavour the fruit and vice versa so stick to fruits that you like and avoid textured fruits like bananas.
